Just Another Week in NRACountry?

With the kind of week NRACountry artist Blake Shelton had in mid-November, who needs Ed McMahon or his pesky driveway-blocking van? Certainly the tall, honey-mouthed, Miranda Lambert-marrying country music star doesn't. And I'm not even so envious of his Male Vocalist of the Year CMA award  that he likes to clink in toast as if it were a cold Budweiser.

But did you know that this guy went out behind his Oklahoma home two days after having the night of his life an arrowed a monster buck with his Hoyt bow? Of course I know it takes some skill to wail an old country ditty and to hunt mature whitetail bucks, but is he on a roll, or is he on a roll? But why we like him is because he wears his passion for the outdoors on his sleeve--er, on his forearm. ... Just ask Oliver Trevena of Young Hollywood. I don't know if Trevena’s ever even seen a John Deere in the wild, but he sure acted a little squirrely when Shelton told him that he lives to hunt. Check out this video: http://www.younghollywood.com/videos/yhstudio/november/blake-shelton.html

As for the massive buck with the dark-chocolaty antlers (yes, I have buck-envy) come back here in the days to come the full story of his hunt. Meantime, check out some of Shelton's hard-core country music,  and get out in the backwoods with your bow or your rifle. You just never know when luck, a buck, or the ghost of old Ed McMahon might roll your way.
