All in all, it was one hell of an NRA Country weekend in Las Vegas!
Over 30 country music artists competed--and more importantly--had a blast at NRAC's shoot at Nellis airforce base on Saturday morning. It was hosted by this year's face of the ACM award show--and strong NRA advocate--Blake Shelton. Shelton was making his debut as a co-host of the show with Reba, and he also performed during the show. His sporting clays team came in second place.
The shoot was won by Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox. Check out this great blog post about the event right here, from The Boot.
Big winners at the ACM show included former NRA annual meetings act and gun-owning hottie Miranda Lambert, with her song "The House That Built Me" and Taylor Swift who won Entertainer of the Year. Interestingly, the NRAC Celebrity Shoot was given a plug on national (CBS) television during the airing!
The live show--that included guest appearances by THE rocker himself--Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and James Taylor--was simply brilliant, but when it ended, the night did not. Post parties were everywhere, and at one, the All Star Jam, many NRAC artists, including Luke Bryan, Chuck Wicks, Justin Moore and others played to a packed house. They KILLED it!!!
Check out this website soon for photos and videos of the shoot and the weekend. I can't wait for next year! NRA Country may be country, but, baby, it's starting to rock!
